• Imagine you used to have a friend and then you both killed each other’s families and become sworn enemies
• Imagine your home gets overtaken by a dictator and your enemy becomes her second which he delights in
• The dictator curses you and your entire country for refusing to sleep with her
• Your enemy continues to taunt you by sending severed heads or fae with their wings cut off to your home - he thoroughly enjoys working alongside Amarantha
• The majority of your friends die trying to find someone to break the curse this woman has put on you, all while trying to hold your court together and take in refugees from neighbouring courts
• You finally find the woman to break the curse and your enemy shows up, forces himself into her mind and hurts her, makes you grovel on your knees and beg him not to tell the dictator her name, she gives him a false name - and that poor human girl is mutilated as a result.
• He also threatens to hurt your emissary’s mother who is trapped UTM with him
• You send the woman home but she returns to save you because you’re in love. He forces her into a deal by twisting the broken bone in her arm when she’s cold and starving and dying
• You watch your enemy drugging the woman you love every night and forcing her to dance basically naked in front of an entire land full of people to humiliate her and to taunt you because if you react, you doom her further
• You can see the light fading from her eyes more and more every day but if you act, you will damn her entirely so you have to watch her suffering at the hands of your enemy
• After the horror of the mountain, your love still has the deal to go to your enemy’s court - and he doesn’t come. Weeks and weeks go by and he’s still not arrived, ramping up your paranoia. If your love leaves the house, he will snatch her away - and knowing him he will backdate all the time he didn’t take her for. Every day, the threat of him arriving looms over you both
• Your enemy shows up on your wedding day and steals your bride to his notoriously wicked court
• She cannot read or write yet sends a message from said court that she’s fine and staying there

Tamlin was also suffering from PTSD along with Feyre. So much of r/hysand’s meddling was a way to antagonise Tamlin and I believe him not taking Feyre for their deal on time contributed to Tamlin’s paranoia. If Feyre and Tamlin had the opportunity to talk and heal, things might not have transpired the way they did. If she could speak to him openly, he might not have believed she was being held under duress. He was not there for her when she needed support most - but equally, it was a time when he also needed support. Neither of them was in a place where they could support each other.
